I’m Jeff. I’ve been helping organizations and individuals communicate their ideas for more than twenty years. Whether it’s a proposal you’re trying to polish and refine before the deadline, or a grant application that needs to sell an idea you’re passionate about, or a project that you’ve written out at great speed and that now needs a healthy pruning, I can help you get over the finish line with a product that you’re proud of.
How does this work?
- First thing we’ll do is set up a time to chat about your product. I’ll ask you some questions about what you’re trying to accomplish, what the deadlines are, what’s done so far and where you are hoping to go with it.
- Next, I’ll send you a quote for what needs to get done and how much time I think it will take to do everything.
- If that sounds good to you, then I’ll send you a contract and we’ll get started. The contract typically asks for 50% payment up front. This allows me to prioritize your project in order to keep to our agreed-upon schedule for completion.
- Depending on the extent of the work, I will provide you with updates on a regular basis. If it’s a small job (less than 3 days), I will just turn the product around without updating. For bigger jobs, you can expect regular updates. Either way, you can feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions.
- As for the actual work itself, how that pans out will depend on what we’re working on together. Proposals usually require pretty close collaboration. Edits of novels might just mean that we set up regular touchpoints. Every project is a bit (or a lot) different.
Pricing
It’s the thing most people are curious about. My quotes are developed based on an estimate of how many hours the work will take multiplied by a rate and any specific costs. Different kinds of work will require different levels of effort. The table below provides some general guidelines. With anything, though, let’s have the conversation first.
